AMD joins the virtual world of Second Life; sponsors Treasure Hunt Contest for Developers
Chipmaker, Advanced Micro Devices Inc, more popularly known as AMD is now taking a big leap by entering the virtual world. The chipmaker has opened the AMD Dev. Central Pavilion on the Dev Central Island in the virtual world of Second Life.
AMD said that by having a presence on Second Life, it is well extending its developer outreach program into virtual space for meetings, lectures, training programs and networking opportunities for developers.
AMD now joins other huge IT forms like CISCO, Dell, IBM and Sun Microsystems on Second Life’s virtual world.
The Dev Central Island is located within the Second Life Dev Archipelago, which is a series of interconnected islands.
